3rd Annual Kids Carp Cull Announced

Friends of Silver Lake will again sponsor the Kids Carp Cull where we pay kids to remove nuisance carp from Silver Lake with collection events every Sunday between Memorial Day and the 4th of July (12:30-1P at the township park at SLSD). All the details are here.

2026 Friends of Silver Lake Annual Meeting

Plan on attending the FoSL Annual meeting June 27th 9:30AM at the Golden Township Park at Silver Lake Sand Dunes. We’re putting together the agenda currently and hope to have updates from the SLIB, Golden Township, SL State Park and the Oceana County Sherriff as well as the FoSL year in review and our Board election. 2026 Silver Lake 4th of July Boat Parade

Please join in on the Silver Lake Boat Parade, Saturday evening July 4^th on Silver Lake in Mears, MI. The parade will conclude before sunset and the Silver Lake ‘Thunder on the Dunes’ Fireworks. All the details and a printable flyer are here.

Friends of Silver Lake is a non-profit association of property owners and other parties interested in the betterment of the Silver Lake community (Golden Township, Oceana County, Michigan). Our purpose is to discuss, promote and act upon ideas that contribute to keeping the greater Silver Lake community more beautiful, enjoyable, secure, and valuable. We promote the improvement of waters, roads, walks, beaches, and other area environments, advocate for various improvements, and assist in raising funds for such purposes.
